OUR Pastor AND leader
REVEREND DR. EVANDER DERICO JR.
Reverend Dr. Evander Derico Jr. has served as the Senior Pastor of Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church for the past twenty-three years. Pastor Derico was licensed as a Minister in September 1999, at Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as an Associate Minister under the leadership of his father, the late Rev. Evander Derico Sr. Two years later he became an ordained Reverend and stepped to the helm of this GREAT ministry. With a heart for ministry and a passion for spiritual growth, Pastor Derico and his Chosen Lady, Dr. Everlena Cotton Derico furthered their education earning a Doctorate of Divinity and a Doctorate of Christian Counseling to further broaden their perspective in counseling, leadership, preaching and teaching. Pastor Derico has led the congregation through decades of faith, service, and community outreach. His vision continues to shape the future of Greater Community, as he remains devoted to spreading the Gospel and serving the needs of his city through his work with the Pompano Christian Clergy Council and Westview Community Cemetery. Pastor Derico has been married to his wife, Dr. Everlena Cotton Derico, over fifty years and they have five children, three of which work along side him in ministry.
